Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-08-24 · Revised 2026-08-25 · 3&D Inc.
3&D Inc. ("we") operates the MacMan website (macman.app) and the MacMan app. This policy states plainly what we collect and what we do not.
1. What we collect, and why
- Launch-notification email (optional) — only if you type it in on the website; used solely to send launch and early-bird news.
- Website usage events — an anonymous session ID and button-click events (e.g. download clicks). Not personally identifiable; used for service statistics only.
- Anonymous scan statistics from the app (only with consent) — disk capacity figures, per-folder sizes and safety grades, failed measurements, and a random install ID. Personal folder names are masked before sending; no device or account identifiers are included. The exact JSON sent is viewable in the app's report screen. File names and file contents are never collected.
- Cleanup records (only with consent) — which folders were removed or restored, their size, and what our judgement was. Personal folder names are masked. Linked by the same random install ID as the scan statistics.
- Names of folders the app could not judge (only with a separate consent on the cleanup screen) — the home-relative name (e.g.
Library/Caches/pnpm) is sent through the MacMan server to the Anthropic API to generate a description. Only names that are public software identifiers (app names, reverse-DNS bundle IDs) are sent; personal folder names, file names, file contents and the install ID never are. The exact JSON is shown before and after sending. Answers are stored on our server so other users get them without a new request (no personal data). - Device identifier hash — used only to keep a licence within two Macs. We never store the raw identifier, only an irreversible hash. Your Mac's computer name (as set in System Settings) is also sent and kept, so you can see which Macs hold your two slots and release one yourself. If your computer name contains your real name, you can rename it in System Settings before activating.
- Support email — messages to [email protected] are used only to reply.
- IP address — kept in infrastructure request logs (Cloudflare, Supabase) for at most one day, then deleted automatically. Never stored in our database.
- Purchase and payment records — the email you enter at checkout, order id, amount and time, the approval result returned by NICE Payments (card number only in masked form), and the license key we issued. Used to issue and re-send keys, handle refunds, and for tax filing. Card details are entered only in the NICE payment window and never pass through our servers.
2. Retention
- Emails: until launch notifications are done, or upon your deletion request
- Anonymous statistics: kept in non-identifiable form for as long as needed
- Purchase and payment records — as required by Korea's E-Commerce Act: contract and withdrawal records 5 years, payment and supply records 5 years, consumer complaint and dispute records 3 years
3. Third parties
We do not sell or share personal data with third parties.
4. Processors
- Supabase Inc. — data storage (Seoul region)
- Cloudflare, Inc. — website hosting, email routing
- NICE Payments Co., Ltd. (Korea) — payment processing (card authentication, approval, cancellation)
- Resend, Inc. (USA) — sending the license-key email (recipient address and message body)
- Anthropic, PBC (USA) — generating descriptions from folder names the app could not judge (only with consent)
5. Your rights
Email [email protected] any time to access, correct, or delete your data; we act without delay.
